At the lowest point of my health, I genuinely thought I was thriving.
I was working out twice a day. I had gone vegan. I was tracking everything, restricting portions, doing all the things the wellness world said were good for me. I was proud of it, actually.
Then I got really sick.
SIBO — a bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine — is directly worsened by under-eating, over-training, and chronic physical stress.
I had been doing all three.
The turning point wasn’t a new doctor or a new protocol.
It was my birth chart.
Specifically: four placements in my chart that I had never looked at together before. My Rising sign, my Venus, my Mars, and my 6th house.
What I found changed my health, my style, and honestly — the way I feel in my body every single day.
The four placements and what they actually govern
Most astrology content gives you one placement and calls it done.
“You’re a Scorpio, wear black.” “You’re a Virgo, you’re organized.”
That’s not a system. That’s a horoscope. And it misses the point, because no placement operates in isolation. Your chart tells one story and these four placements are the part of that story that governs how you physically live.
Here’s what each one means.
Your Rising is the energy people feel from you before you say a word. Your physical presence, your first impression, how you move through the world. It’s also your higher self path aka the version of you you’re here to grow into.
Most style content tells you to dress for your sun sign. Your sun sign is your identity. It has nothing to do with how you radiate energy in a room. Your Rising does.
Your Venus sign is your magnetism
Your Venus is what makes you irresistible when you’re fully in it. The aesthetic instinct that is specifically yours. The colors, fabrics, and style choices that feel natural rather than performed.
When you dress for someone else’s Venus — when you follow trends built for a different energetic frequency — you might look good. When you dress for your own Venus, you feel magnetic to yourself. Those are different things.
Your Mars governs how you’re built to exert physical energy. What keeps you motivated. What burns you out when you fight it.
This is the placement that determines which workouts you’ll actually sustain and which ones you’ll quit in three weeks and blame on your lack of discipline. It’s not discipline. It’s the wrong Mars.
Your 6th house is your body’s personal operating manual. Digestion, daily rhythms, the food and routine approach that works for how you are specifically wired.
Are you built for consistent structured meals or intuitive eating that follows your hunger? Do you need rich, protein-forward food to feel energized or lighter, more precise eating? Do you need a rigid morning routine to feel grounded or does that kind of rigidity drain you before the day even starts?
Your 6th house will know better than generic wellness advice doesn’t.
I have a Leo 6th house.
Leo in the 6th says: warmth, indulgence, rich proteins, variety, pleasure in eating. Big breakfasts. Full meals. No restriction, no apology.
I was doing the exact opposite. I was tracking my macros, reducing my portions, convinced that eating less and eliminating whole food groups was what health looked like. I went vegan. I turned down food at people’s houses. I told myself I was thriving.
My Leo 6th house was starving.
When I started eating for that placement I had three full meals each day, protein-forward, indulgent when it felt good and zero guilt. This way of eating made me feel better in weeks than I had in years. The gut issues started clearing. My energy came back. I stopped feeling like I was constantly white-knuckling my way through the day.
Then I looked at my Virgo Mars.
Virgo Mars needs a consistent, methodical plan with a trackable goal. It does not need intensity for the sake of intensity. What was I doing? Swimming in the mornings, then heavy lifting and running in the afternoons. Two-a-days, six days a week, convinced that more was more.
I cut it down to five intentional weightlifting sessions a week. Progressive overload, tracked. Walks when I needed to move. Hiking when I wanted variety since Virgo is an earth sign and being outside in nature is genuinely restorative for this placement in a way the gym never was.
I have fallen in love with my workouts.
And then I looked at my Pisces Rising and Cancer Venus and understood why I’d felt like a stranger in my own closet for years.
I had been chasing trends. Tight dark clothes. Masculine silhouettes. Things that looked right on other people and landed flat on me every single time.
My Pisces Rising needs softness, fluidity, an ethereal quality. My Cancer Venus needs comfort, sentimentality, things that feel like home on my body. When I started wearing soft blues and creams and flowing fabrics and my signature jewelry, I got more compliments in a month than I had in the previous year.
But the compliments weren’t the point.
The point was that I finally recognized myself in the mirror.
Your chart has many layers. There are placements that speak to your soul’s purpose, your wounds, your relationships, your gifts.
These four — Rising, Venus, Mars, 6th house — are the ones that govern how you physically inhabit your daily life.
Your Rising governs your body and presence. Your Venus governs your aesthetic magnetism. Your Mars governs your physical energy and drive. Your 6th house governs your daily health and rhythms.
Together they answer one question: what does this person need to feel at home in their body?
When all four are in alignment, the shift isn’t subtle. It’s immediate. It’s physical. It shows up in how you move, how you eat, what you put on in the morning, and whether you feel like yourself by noon.

Don’t know your birth time? You can still work with your Venus and Mars signs — the Rising and 6th house are less reliable without an exact time, but the other two placements are a strong start.
Reading the four placements on their own is the beginning.
Understanding how they work together — how they modify each other, how to translate them into your actual daily routine, your wardrobe, your workout plan, your eating habits — that’s what AstroGlow 101 is for.
I built this course out of my own experience, and I’ve now taught the method to hundreds of clients. The results are consistent: people stop fighting their own energy, and things start to feel easier. The workouts stick. The style clicks. The body feels better.
All of this because they finally stopped working against their own chart.
